Portrait photography in Portland with a point of view
Portraits are where a headshot studio gets to breathe. Personal branding sessions for founders and consultants, editorial portraits for speakers and authors, creative portraits for musicians and artists, and family or graduation portraits that people actually want on the wall. The framing loosens, the light gets more character, and the session becomes a collaboration.
The approach is the same one that makes our headshots work: real direction from behind the camera, live review on a monitor so you are part of the edit, and retouching that keeps you looking like you. The difference is range. We build several looks in one session so you leave with images that work on a website, a book jacket, a stage screen and a frame.
What you get
- A planned session: we talk through where the images will be used and build the looks around that.
- Studio, environmental and natural-light options in and around downtown Portland.
- Coached posing and expression, with live review so you see every look as it comes together.
- No time limit and no cap on the number of photos on a full session, with room for several outfits.
- Professional retouching on every selected image, delivered within 48 hours in print and web sizes.
How it works
- 1
Tell us the story
What the portraits are for, the feel you want, and any references. We reply within one business hour with a quote and a plan.
- 2
Build the looks
We plan wardrobe, backgrounds and light together, then coach every frame on the day while you review live.
- 3
Get your images
Pick your favorites on the spot. Retouched finals arrive within 48 hours, sized for print and screen.
"I don't know what to do in front of a camera."
Nobody does, and nobody needs to. Direction is the job. You will be given something specific to do or think about for every frame, and you will see the result seconds later. That loop is what turns a stiff first ten minutes into portraits that look like you on your best day.
Common questions
What kinds of portraits do you shoot?
Personal branding, editorial and speaker portraits, creative portraits for artists and musicians, graduation portraits, and family portraits in the studio or on location.
Can we shoot on location?
Yes. We combine studio looks with environmental or natural-light setups around downtown Portland in the same session.
How long does a portrait session take?
There is no time limit on a full session. Most branding and editorial sessions run about ninety minutes with several looks.
Can I bring multiple outfits?
Please do. Several outfits and a couple of references give us the most to work with.
When will I get the images?
You choose favorites during the session and retouched finals are delivered within 48 hours, in print resolution and web sizes.
Do you do headshots too?
Yes, that is most of what we do. Many portrait sessions include a clean headshot look for LinkedIn and company use.
