Corporate headshots in Portland: a guide for teams and executives
Whether you need one executive portrait or matching headshots for 80 people across two offices, the goal is the same: a consistent, current set of photos that makes the company look like it has its act together. This guide covers how corporate sessions work, how to keep a team consistent, what to tell your people to wear, and what it costs.

What are corporate headshots?
Corporate headshots are the photos a company uses everywhere it shows its people: the website team page, LinkedIn, press releases, conference bios, proposals and internal directories. Done well, they share the same lighting, background, crop and retouching style, so a page of thirty faces looks like one team rather than thirty different photographers.
They range from a single executive portrait for an annual report to a full-company session where we photograph everyone in a day. The technical work is the same; the planning is different.
Why consistency is the whole point
Most companies do not have a headshot problem, they have a consistency problem. Half the team has photos from the last photographer, a few people used a phone in the parking lot, and the new hires have a gray silhouette. The website looks like it was assembled from three companies.
A corporate session fixes that by locking the setup: same light, same background, same distance, same retouching. When someone new joins six months later, we shoot them on the identical setup and they drop straight into the grid. We keep the specs on file for every company we work with, including Nike, Intel, Columbia and dozens of Portland firms and agencies.
In-studio, on-site or both
In-studio sessions at 805 SW Broadway work well for executives, small teams and anyone who wants the full range of backgrounds. People come in on a schedule, fifteen minutes apart, and are back at their desk within the hour.
On-site sessions bring the studio to your office. We set up in a conference room and photograph the whole team in a day with no one leaving the building. This is the right call for larger groups, distributed teams that are all in one place for an offsite, and companies that want zero disruption.
Hybrid is common: the leadership team in the studio for a longer session, everyone else on-site during a single day, all on matching setups.
What to tell your team to wear
Send one short email. Most of the value of a company session is lost when half the team shows up in whatever they had on.
- Decide the level: business formal, business casual, or the company's normal dress. Say it explicitly.
- Solid colors, no busy patterns, no logos other than your own if you want them.
- Pick a palette that contrasts with the background you have chosen. We will recommend one once you pick a look.
- Ask people to bring a backup top. It takes a minute to swap and rescues the occasional bad choice.
- Remind them about pressed shirts, a haircut the week before, and glasses if they normally wear them.
How the day runs
We build a schedule with your coordinator, usually ten to fifteen minutes per person. Each person gets the same thing an individual client gets: real posing and expression coaching, a monitor to review frames live, and a quick selection before they leave. Nobody has to guess whether they got a good one.
For larger groups we can send a booking link so people pick their own slot, and we track who has been photographed so no one is missed. Retouched files are delivered within 48 hours, named and organized by person, ready for the web team.
Backgrounds and looks for a company
The safest choice for a team is a clean neutral: light gray, white or a soft charcoal. It matches any brand palette and looks right on a website, in a proposal and in a newspaper. Companies with a strong visual identity sometimes choose a color that matches their site, and some want a subtle environmental look with the office softly out of focus.
Whatever you pick, we shoot every person on it identically and keep a reference so future hires match.
"Half my team hates having their photo taken."
That is normal and it does not matter. Coached sessions are designed for people who are not comfortable in front of a camera, which is most people. They are told exactly what to do, they see the results immediately, and the whole thing takes ten minutes. The most common feedback from HR coordinators is how many people came out of the room saying it was painless.
How much do corporate headshots cost in Portland?
We quote every session individually rather than publishing a rate card, because no two people need the same thing. What you pay depends on what you need: a single executive who needs to match an existing team set, a leadership group, or the whole company on-site in a day.
Team sessions are quoted by headcount, location and number of looks, and the per-person cost comes down as the group grows. Every quote includes coaching, live review, professional retouching of the selected images and 48-hour delivery, with files organized by person for your web team. Tell us how many people and where they are and we will send a quote the same business day.
Frequently asked questions
Can you come to our office?
Yes. We bring a full studio setup to your office or offsite and photograph the team in a day. Most Portland-area locations, including Vancouver, Beaverton, Hillsboro and Lake Oswego, are in our regular service area.
How many people can you photograph in a day?
Roughly 40 to 60 on-site, depending on the schedule. Larger companies split across two days or combine an on-site day with studio sessions for leadership.
Can new hires match the photos you took last year?
Yes. We keep the exact lighting, background and crop on file for every company we work with, so a new hire shot next year drops straight into the existing team page.
Do you handle scheduling?
We can. For larger groups we send a booking link so each person picks a slot, and we track who has been photographed.
Is there a certificate of insurance for on-site work?
Yes, we carry liability insurance and can provide a certificate for your building or facilities team on request.
How are the files delivered?
Retouched, high-resolution and web-sized files, organized and named by person, within 48 hours of the session.
